China-Tunisia Video Meeting on Water Technologies

Commissioned by Ministry of Water Resources (MWR) of China and Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries of Tunisia, Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute (NHRI) and National Research Institute of Rural Engineering Water and Forest of Tunisia jointly held a video meeting on water technologies on February 29, 2024. Vice President WU Shiqiang of NHRI and President Zouhaier Nasr of National Research Institute of Rural Engineering Water and Forest of Tunisia delivered speeches on behalf of respective institute.

Vice President WU Shiqiang expressed his gratitude to MWR and Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries of Tunisia for their guidance on the video meeting. Focusing on highly concerned areas, such as climate change, water-saving, agricultural irrigation, etc., both sides conducted technical exchanges, shared practical experiences, demonstrated their respective disciplinary and technological advantages, and enhanced mutual understanding. President Zouhaier Nasr expressed great interest in the contents of the exchange and hoped to establish a stable exchange and cooperation mechanism as soon as possible.

Experts from National Research Institute of Rural Engineering Water and Forest of Tunisia, representatives from Department of International Cooperation, Science and Technology of MWR and China South-to-North Water Diversion Co., Ltd., as well as leaders and researchers from NHRI departments such as International Cooperation Office, Hydrology and Water Resources Department, Rural Water Management Department, and Rural Electrification Department participated in this meeting.
