As a research hub for integrated harnessing of rivers and lakes, the center, covering an area of 74,000m2, focuses on the key technological problems concerning the training of Taihu Lake and the Yangtze River estuary and will be developed into the key lab of the Ministry of Water Resources for integrated harnessing of rivers and lakes as planned. It has Taihu Lake Test Hall, Taihu-Yangtze Test Hall, and Hydro-Meteorological Observation Station, etc.

Areas of Interest:

-Integrated harnessing of Taihu Lake and the Yangtze River estuary;

-Real-time monitoring of flow discharge, water quality and eco-environment of Taihu Lake and the water transfer from the Yangtze River into Taihu Lake;

-Science dissemination and education for nearby students and communities;

-Demonstration of research findings in integrated harnessing of Taihu Lake and the Yangtze River estuary; and

-International cooperation in related fields.
