On the afternoon of Feb. 3, 2023, the 15th Meeting of Sino-Dutch Joint Steering Committee for Water Management was successfully convened via video link. The bilateral water cooperation outputs were reviewed, the Implementation Plan (2022-2027) under MoU Water MWR-IenW signed, and the webinar of Sino-Dutch cooperation on water and climate adaptation held at the meeting. Mr. TIAN Xuebin, Vice Minister of MWR, China, and Mrs. Michèle BLOM, Vice Minister of Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management and Director-General of Rijkswaterstaat, the Netherlands delivered opening remarks, respectively. A video conference was set up at NHRI. Mr. WU Shiqiang, NHRI Vice President and relevant staff from International Cooperation Office (ICO) and Department of Hydraulic Engineering attended the meeting. The participants of the both sides watched a video clip made by MWR, commemorating the 30th Anniversary of Sino-Dutch Water Cooperation since signing the above-mentioned MoU in 1992. In the session of bilateral cooperation review, Mrs. SUN Feng, Deputy Director of ICO, on behalf of NHRI, one of the three speakers from the Chinese side, made a report titled Everlasting Friendship and Cooperation between NHRI and Dutch Partners, in which she comprehensively reviewed the practical cooperation on talent training, academic exchange and joint research since NHRI’s founding and the trans-century friendship. And the Dutch side responded positively. In the follow-up webinar, Dr. XIE Chen from Department of Hydraulic Engineering made a report titled Technical Research and Application of Urban Water Management Under Climate Change - Taking the Yangtze River Delta area as an Example. The meeting achieved expected results.
