Recently, SL/T 805-2020 Technical Specification for Fiber Concrete Application in Hydraulic Projects, a new water industrial standard sponsored by Department of Water Project Construction Management, Ministry of Water Resources (MWR) and chiefly drafted by Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute (NHRI), was officially issued and will be implemented from Feb. 28, 2021. The preparation work of the standard was officially launched in Jan. 2017. Public opinions were solicited on the website of MWR Department of International Cooperation, Science and Technology in Jul. 2018. A standard draft review meeting was held in Jul. 2019. A standard draft for approval was formed and submitted to MWR leaders in Sep. 2019. The standard was approved by MWR in Oct. 2020. For the better application of fiber concrete in hydraulic projects, it is necessary to compile a technical specification for fiber concrete application in hydraulic projects in accordance with their features. The standard is applicable to the raw material requirements, mix ratio design, performance requirements, test methods, construction and quality inspection of fiber concrete either using steel fibers or synthetic fibers in hydraulic projects. The formulation of this standard will further standardize the application of fiber concrete in hydraulic projects. The standard is composed of 7 chapters and 4 annexes, with the main technical contents including general provisions, terms and symbols, raw materials, mix ratio design, and the performance, construction and quality inspection of fiber concrete in hydraulic projects. |
