On December 12, 2019, Mr. Geert van Cappellen, PIANC Secretary-General visited NHRI for the preparation of PIANC-SMART Rivers 2021 Conference. NHRI Vice President LI Yun had a meeting with the Secretary-General.

At the meeting, the two sides watched NHRI introduction video Forerunner. Then LI gave the guest a brief about NHRI’s advantages of holding international events. Dr. ZHAO Gensheng made a report on the preparation progress of the Conference. The two sides discussed the conference topics, website construction, venue selection, organizational structure, invitation of foreign participants and exhibitors, and publication of proceedings, etc.

On that afternoon, the Secretary-General visited Nanjing Port Longtan Container Company (affiliated to Nanjing Port Group Co., Ltd.) and NHRI Tiexinqiao Water Experiment Center.
