Signing Ceremony Awarding Ceremony On the morning of Oct. 9th, 2018, the orientation ceremony for international students under the Chinese Government's One Belt and One Road Scholarship Program for high-level talents in the field of water conservancy and the signing ceremony of practice base for the students were held at Hohai University (HHU). NHRI Vice President LI Yun led relevant staff from the International Cooperation Office and Department of Personnel, Labor and Education to participate in the above-mentioned activities. XU Hui, HHU President, LI Ge, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation, Science and Technology of the Ministry of Water Resources, diplomats from embassies of Pakistan, Mongolia, Kenya, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan, and persons in charge of the practice base from six relevant organizations attended the ceremony. HHU Vice President XU Weiya presided over the ceremony. On behalf of NHRI, LI Yun signed a joint construction agreement of practice base with HHU and attended the awarding ceremony. Since the school year of 2018-2019, the scholarship program plans to support 30 students every year for five years from One Belt and One Road countries to study water conservancy majors in graduate school. HHU will undertake the training tasks. This year, NHRI has recommended students from Nepal, Laos, Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, who have all been enrolled. By participating in the scholarship program, NHRI provides a practice base for HHU international students. As an active response to China's One Belt and One Road Initiative, the participation has met the needs of countries along the routes. It has consolidated and expanded water conservancy exchange and cooperation with these countries by exporting China's advanced water conservancy technology and standards. At the same time, the participation has become a new trial to train international students and enhanced NHRI international influence.
