On August 11, 2016, the 7^th Sino-Swiss High-Level Dialogue on Water Management was held in Beijing. Mr. CHEN Lei, Minister of Water Resources of the People’s Republic of China and Mdm. Doris Leuthard, Vice President of Swiss Federal Council and Minister of Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications of Switzerland presented at the meeting and delivered speeches. Over 100 representatives from China and Switzerland exchanged ideas on topics of water policy, integrated water resources and risk management, groundwater management, and dam safety and risk monitoring.

Prof. SUN Jinhua, Director-General of MWR Dam Safety Management Center (DSMC) led a delegation for the meeting and made a presentation of Dam Safety Management in China. Based on the introduction of the dam safety management practices in China, he analyzed the new challenges on dam safety in China. Since 2011, DSMC has carried out Sino-Swiss Dam Safety Enhancement Program as an executing agency for the Chinese side. The fruitful cooperation was highly evaluated at the meeting by Mr. Josef Hess, Vice Director-General, Swiss Federal Office for Environment.
