On November 13, 2025, a delegation of eight experts led by H.E. Intan Syuriani Ismail, Under Secretary of the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), Malaysia, visited NHRI for technical exchanges. LIU Liuyan, Director General of Dam Safety Management Center, the Ministry of Water Resources, China and Vice President of NHRI, received the delegation.

LIU Liuyan warmly welcomed H.E. Ismail and the delegation, introduced the development history of NHRI, and the fruitful achievements of academic exchanges and project cooperation with Malaysia. Both sides shared the regulations and practical experiences of dam safety management, engaged in extensive discussions on relevant policies, regulations, and technical standards, and unanimously agreed to further jointly promote cooperation regarding technical exchanges, joint research, standard development, and talent cultivation, to ensure water security for both countries.

Responsible persons from NARI Water & Hydropower and relevant departments of NHRI participated in the meeting. After the meeting, H.E. Ismail and the delegation visited NHRI Tiexinqiao Water Experiment Center.
