On June 1, 2018, more than 100 domestic and international representatives of ISHMMT 2018 visited NHRI Water Experiment Center (WEC) at Tiexinqiao, Nanjing. Prof. LI Yun, Chairman of the Organizing Committee and Vice President of NHRI, Prof. WU Shiqiang, Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee and Director of NHRI Hydraulic Engineering Department, and Prof. HU Ya’an, Secretary General of the Organizing Committee and Deputy Director of NHRI Hydraulic Engineering Department accompanied them on the visit.

The representatives visited Test Hall of Navigation Structures, Test Hall of the Bohai Bay, Geo-Centrifuge Test Hall, Test Hall of Vacuum Chamber, New Technology Test Hall of Hydraulic Engineering, Test Hall of Cavitation and Cavitation Erosion, Test Hall of Baihetan Project, and Test Hall of Lower Reach of the Yangtze River successively. They showed strong interest in model tests and exchanged ideas on related technical issues with NHRI experts. The representatives were deeply impressed with the WEC advanced facilities, beautiful environment, and its contribution to China’s technology progress of water conservancy, transport and energy.
