On November 5, 2018, Finnish Water Forum (FWF) Managing Director Topi Helle and Deputy Managing Director Kenneth Kumenius visited Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute NHRI) and the Dam Safety Management Center (DSMC) for academic exchange and future cooperation.
Prof. SUN Jinhua, NHRI Vice President and DSMC Director-General, extended a warm welcome to the Finnish guests. Then in-depth exchanges were carried out with focus on reservoir dam safety, ecological function restoration of rivers and lakes, reservoir dredging and siltation reuse. After watching NHRI introduction video Forerunner, the visitors were impressed with the scientific research strength and platform. They expressed their hope of conducting more extensive and pragmatic exchange and cooperation with NHRI and DSMC to achieve complementary advantages and win-win cooperation.
FWF is a platform co-founded by relevant Finnish government agencies, non-governmental organizations, research institutes and water-related enterprises. It mainly helps to introduce projects, technology and service needs to its members, as well as communicates and coordinates with the government.
