On the afternoon of Oct. 9th, 2018, a diplomatic delegation visited NHRI water experiment center(WEC) in Tiexinqiao. The delegation was composed of Mr. Ata Ur Rahman, Counselor of the Pakistan Embassy, Mr. Reuben Argut Pturgo, Education Counselor of the Kenyan Embassy, Mr. Muhammad Egamzod, First Secretary of the Tajik Embassy, and Mrs. Kalamkas Duzbayeva, First Secretary of the Kazakhstan Embassy. HAO Zhao, Director of Department of International Cooperation, Science and Technology of the Ministry of Water Resources, accompanied them on the visit.
In the meeting room of WEC, SUN Feng, Director of International Cooperation Office, extended a warm welcome to the guests. Then they watched NHRI introduction video Forerunner followed by a general introduction of WEC. At last, SUN focused on the presentation of relevant research projects concerning Pakistan and African countries carried out by NHRI.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the Test Hall of Navigation Structures, the Test Hall of the Bohai Bay, the Test Hall of the Baihetan Project, and the Test Hall of the Lower Reaches of the Yangtze River successively. Through the field visit, the diplomats deepened their understanding of China's achievements on water conservancy construction. Besides, the visit greatly publicized NHRI scientific research capabilities, and laid a foundation for future international cooperation. The diplomats expressed their hope to carry out more in-depth technical cooperation with NHRI and thus improve their countries’ construction level of water conservancy.
