The State Council Coordination Office for National Talents Program has recently released the second batch of nominees for the National 10,000 Talents Program. Prof. Hu Shaowei with NHRI has been successfully nominated for the Program. The Program was jointly launched in 2012 at the authorization of the State Council by 11 Chinese government agencies including the Ministry of Human Resources & Social Security and Ministry of Science and Technology, to facilitate support and mobilize resources for 10,000 outstanding specialists in the S&T fields in the coming 10 years in China.
Prof. Hu is currently director of the NHRI Department of Structural & Material Engineering. He has been very actively involved in the fields of structural damage & fracture, anti-seismic structures and so on. He has led multiple national key R&D and commercial consultancy projects in his specialties, contributed to a number of industrial standards and procedures, wining multiple national or industrial awards and national patents. He has also published more than 250 papers in professional journals, including more than 30 SCI-indexed and more than 100 EI-indexed ones.
