Vice Minister of Water Resources LU Guihua delivers a speech

Investigation at NHRI Dept. of Hydrology and Water Resources

On Oct. 17, 2016, Vice Minister of Water Resources LU Guihua visited NHRI and gave guidance to the compilation of the 13th Five-Year Planning and implementation of relevant science and technology innovation policy and measures of the central government in water sector. Deputy Counsel of MWR Department of Finance, ZHANG Cheng, Deputy Director-General of MWR Department of Human Resources, SUN Gaozhen, and Deputy Director-General of MWR Department of International Cooperation, Science and Technology, WU Hongwei joined the visit. NHRI President ZHANG Jianyun, Vice Presidents LIU Heng, CAI Yuebo, LI Yun, LIN Xiaobin and DAI Jiqun, Chief Engineer DOU Xiping, Chief Accountant XUE Yayun, Deputy Director-General of MWR Dam Safety Management Center, LIU Liuyan, and other leaders with NHRI research and management departments attended the meeting.

President ZHANG made a report on the implementation of the instruction given by Vice Minister LU when he inspected the institute at the beginning of this August, and the progress of further deepening the science and technology reformation and compilation of the 13th Five-Year Planning. Other NHRI leaders made reports on talents fostering and introduction, international cooperation, implementation of relevant national policy, graduate education and research base construction, etc.

Vice Minister LU spoke highly of the effective measures taken and remarkable progress made by NHRI in view of NHRI development positioning, implementation of national science and technology innovation policy, and compilation of the 13th Five-Year Planning. He also put forward clear requirements on the next step work of NHRI, i.e. firstly to speed up the realization of world first-class water research institute, secondly to spear no efforts on the compilation and implementation of the 13th Five-Year Planning, and thirdly to continue carrying out relevant science and technology innovative policy.

Vice Minister LU also concerned a lot for the research of hydrology and water resources, and paid a special visit to NHRI Department of Hydrology and Water Resources. He wished the Department could greatly promote the development of hydrological subject, and provide a more powerful technology support to the nation’s demands by staying true to its mission.
